The Cowboy Boots You Need This Fall
Posted by Boot Star | 10.31.2014Is it Fall yet? If we can just get past the heat wave that is sizzling in the West and start enjoying those fine autumn days, we’ll finally get to embrace all the new fall fashion fare. You don’t have to wait for snow, however, to start prepping your fall wardrobe with the number one essential on everyone's wish list: Boots!
So start brushing the sand off your favorite summer flip-flops because boot season is upon us! Although here in California we enjoy many sun-kissed days well into the season, boots are definitely the cold-weather must-have that West and East coast alike can’t get enough of —starting now. A little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n’ roll, cowboy boots are the one fashion item that never go out of style. You may not want to pull out that wool coat or layered look just yet, but this fall's go-to ankle boots pair perfectly with billowy sundresses and crops as you slowly warm up your wardrobe. With styles that range from classic western to contemporary to out-and-out wild, there is always the perfect look for every cowgirl and cowboy (even if it’s just at heart).
Here are some favorite must-have boots you will absolutely need this Fall …
Ankle zip boots: Totally on trend this season, these stunning boots are your go-to for dressing up for a night out or just stepping out for lunch with friends.

Fall for Fringe Boots
Posted by Boot Star | 10.22.2014If you are in search of the perfect fringed cowboy boots this fall, you are not alone.
Fringe is definitely still leading the list of must-haves this season. From fringed handbags to tall and short fringe boots, we’re seeing some beautiful western-inspired fashion items for fall.
A little boho chic, a little southwestern styling, fringe boots are a great way to complete a variety of looks, and compliment many current fashion trends.
Here are a few of our favorite ways to wear fringe boots, whether you’re at home on the open range or stepping out on the city sidewalks.
Southwestern Style
The Southwestern look is definitely in right now, especially with Southwestern or Native American-inspired, turquoise and silver jewelry and accessories. Fringe boots or multiple layers of Western-style fringe finish off this look beautifully. Paired with a blouse, a denim skirt, and a statement turquoise and silver necklace, or with skinny jeans and a belted light denim shirt, knee-high fringed boots are the perfect match.
So versatile, fringed boots add interest to any denim outfit, and the natural comfort of these soft leather boots makes them the perfect go-to for a casual outfit. Try adding an on-trend fringed handbag, or a stylized cowgirl hat.

Boho Chic
Fringe boots go hand-in-hand with today’s trendy fun and floral-print bohemian dresses and skirts. This playful and comfortable style virtually cries out to add a little leather fringe. Pull on a knee-high pair with a short bohemian dress and leggings, or pair ankle-high fringe boots with longer flowing skirts.
Contemporary Casual
As those waning warmer days of summer fade to a bit more chill in the air, you can never go wrong with the ever-popular way to wear fringe boots -- paired with skinny jeans and a cozy long sweater. Worn with jeans, skirts or dresses, fringed boots complement a variety of looks this season.

Cowboy Boots and Western Trends in Japan
Posted by Boot Star | 10.08.2014It only takes one trip to Japan for you to quickly realize how much western culture has influenced modern-day Japanese society, especially in fashion. The Japanese now have all the same brands and stores that we enjoy here in the USA, and many of their fashions have become very similar to our own, while still maintaining the essence of their culture’s inherent style. In fact, pairing sleek leather cowboy boots with a favorite pair of jeans or coupling a vibrant hand-stitched western boot with a cute skirt has become one of the many new western influenced fashion trends quickly spreading across Japan.
Only about thirty years ago, western influence in fashion existed only in the form of high-end brands in the Ginza district of Tokyo. Now western boots have found their way into the hearts of men and women all over Japan. The Harajuku district, the epicenter of modern Japanese fashion, is filled with western influences in the form of women and men’s cowboy boots and other western influenced clothing. Jam-packed with boutiques and fashion malls brimming with international clothing chains, this hub caters to the tens of thousands of people who visit every day to shop, hang out, and check out the latest trends.

Western wear stores have been cropping up everywhere in Japan. Japanese stores like Funny Western Co. even carry classic American western cowboy boot brands, such as Lucchese and Rios of Mercedes. Cowboy boots can even be seen in Shinjuku, the business district in Tokyo and locale of the busiest train station in the world -- Shinjuku Station, the major meeting spot; it is also the administrative centre of the government of Japan. Cowboy boots have certainly taken hold and are here to stay as a staple of Japanese western fashion.

Vintage Steerhide Cafe Racer Brown Perfecto Motorcycle Jacket

Brando Vintage Motorcycle Jacket White Brando Jacket
The first words that come to mind when you think of Schott Bros. is “American cool.”
A century ago, back in the day of the birth of the automobile and jazz, it was a time when people created quality-made products that lasted for generations -- a time-honored craftsmanship that still holds true today for Schott NYC. Schott was started by two brothers, Jack and Irving Schott, in a little shop in New York’s lower east side. It was a simple jacket company that became an icon of American culture. For the last hundred years Schott has been there, through world wars, the rise of cinema, and the birth of Rock 'n' Roll. From the creation of the Perfecto motorcycle jacket made famous by Marlon Brando, James Dean, Springsteen and the Ramones, to the Bomber jacket that protected our flyboys in WWII and beyond, America has marched on wearing Schott. Each day since 1913, when Jack and Irving created their first masterpiece, their family, through four generations, has continued the long-standing tradition of quality handcrafted, American-made jackets, and Schott continues to make jackets that define American culture today.
